Artist Statement

After 16 years of study I realize that I will always be a student, a status of which I am proud. My traditional training began with figure drawing and painting, but my love of nature has given me the classroom where I am most happy.

I am grateful for my figure drawing group in Missoula, which has affirmed for me the importance of drawing in my work. I am also most grateful to Joe Paquet, my St. Paul teacher and mentor, who has given me many opportunities to paint, to draw and to dream in St. Paul, Catalina Island, Cape Cod and Madeline Island.
